Blog 24: Last Presentation Reflection

(1) Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your block presentation and/or your senior project? Why?

I think everything went really well. I had to wait 30 minutes to start my presentation but I didn't let that trip me up. I remained calm and still gave my presentation to the best of my ability. I had to cut a couple things short like my hook and activity but it didn't have that big of an impact on my presentation. I really enjoyed my studies this year and I don't regret choosing an art over something more academic. I got to have a ton of experience in the field, experience that I would not have gotten if I had not chose theater. I think the people in my presentation enjoyed it and had some fun and I'm proud to say I entertained them.

(2) Questions to Consider

a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your block presentation?  Use the component contract to defend that assessment.

AE       P          AP       CR       NC

I think I deserve an AE. I covered everything I was suppose to cover in my lesson plan and I did it in a fun and entertaining way.

b.     What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project? Use the component contract to defend that assessment.

Overall, I would be happy with a P because I completed every assignment on time and did what was asked of my but I feel I deserve an AE because not only had I done the work but I went into great detail in my research. I had well over the required hours for my senior project and took the time to make sure everything about my project was up to date and done.

Lesson 2 Reflection

1.What are you most proud of in your Lesson 2 Presentation and why?
I am very pleased with the timing. I was worried earlier that I wouldn't have enough time to do everything I wanted to. I was also really happy with the amount of people that were engaged and enjoyed participating in my presentation.
2. What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 2 Presentation (self-assessment)?

       AE       (P)         AP       CR       NC
I think I deserve a P because I found it  difficult to go above and beyond based on the content I presented today. Most of my content was terms I had learned during mentorship and I presented them the same way they were presented to me. I was prepared to present and I belive I met all the criteria.

3. What worked for you in your Lesson 2?
I liked my activity and I think it really paired my presentation well. I was happily surprised with the about of willing participants in the classroom.
4. What didn't work? If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 2?
Time is still an issue for me despite the fact that i made time I did have to rush my presentation. Time also ties into my activity. I was worried I wouldn't be able to explain my activity and why it was relevant to my lesson but I managed to sum up. I am thinking of changing the instructions a bit so that the audience has some more time to really grasp my concepts.

5. What do you think your answer #2 is going to be?
I think my answer to is going to be something along the lines of, a thespian can improve their performance by learning all aspects of theater production.

Title: Blog 11: Lesson 1 Reflection

1. What are you most proud of in your lesson, and why?
I feel that after my presentation a good number of people got the sense that I really knew what I was talking about and that i had a lot of in  depth research under my belt. I probably could do a 30 minute presentation right now if I had to. This is also something I need to work on. I need to work on being more concise with my information and managing the time span in which I need to present.

2. What assessment would you give yourself on your lesson? Explain why you earned that grade using evidence from the component contract.
I think I should get a P on this presentation. Even though I was cut off by time I still managed to mention my EQ, mentorship, independent component and site one of my written sources.

3. If you could go back, what would you change about your lesson?  How can you use that knowledge to give a better Lesson 2?
I would definitely be more brief and concise with my information. I Probably would change my Hook because it was too long for this presentation. I might still use my same hook for the next presentation because I will have more time to work with.
